Liebster Award

Oooooh! So, I've been nominated for a Liebster Award! Very shiny.

This comes from Merry Mayhem News, a wargaming and Blood Bowl specialist blog. Thanks to their post, I'm now doing the following:

- Copy and paste the award on your blog linking the blogger who has given it to you.
- Pass the award to up to 11 blogs by listing them on your own blog.
- Answer the Questions.
- Sit back and bask in the warm fuzzy feeling that you have made someone's day.
- There is no obligation to pass the award on to someone else but it is nice if you take the time to do so.
As per the kind words from Merry Mayhem News, I am new to this whole blogging thing and at the moment don't follow that many blogs, so my nominees are:

Nazgob's blog: This feels apt because it's the primary Blood Bowl blog I read, and that makes it more relevant to the questions below! Also because his painting talent is incredible and it's very enjoyable to see how his models come together, and I love the fluff he puts up too.

The Inner Monoblog: This is a lovely blog from a friend of mine. He writes about various things in his life, including coffee, relationships and films.

So, on to the questions!

1. Why did you start blogging?
I like writing and would like to be good at writing, it just took me a while to work out what I wanted to have as a focus for a blog. Then my brother dropped out of Pathfinder and our GM needed us to actually write down our character backgrounds (my brother being the only one who'd bother to do so at that point) and I enjoyed doing that and the Pathfinder campaign is amazing (I'm working on writing up the Royal Wedding, it just keeps getting too big!) so I wanted to share it (and other characters I've played over the years) with the world.

2. If you could change one thing about the wargaming hobby, what would it be?
I haven't played wargames since uni - except a bit of Necromunda and a lot of Blood Bowl. I'd like to see more women in gaming, but that is slowy happening so that's exciting.

3. What is best in life?
Finding peace of mind. I've spent a lot of time being unhappy in jobs and miserable in myself and have recently crawled out of that. I'm now working towards a career that excites me and have a lot more respect for myself - this means I can be a better friend, girlfriend, sister, daughter... all the things that make me me.

4. Do you want to live forever?
Yes, although I should add 'as long as my body stays youthfully healthy'. There's more that I want to see, do, read, play and learn than will fit into even several lifetimes.

5. Fame or fortune?
Fortune whilst I'm alive, fame when I'm dead. I don't want to be forgotten, but I don't think I'd like to be universally recognised everywhere I go. However, having more money would make life much easier.

6. What miniature are you most proud of having painted?
It's an embarassing length of time since I last finished painting a model - my timberline elves are about half way through... But there are a few from the past I'm happy with:

My Wood Elf dragon - a High Elf dragon with Wood Elf hero as rider

Yes, this is the dragon that fell on our internet a few weeks ago
My brother asked me to paint this banshee for him and spent years telling people it was his best painted model. I was very pleased with it and was happy when he gave it to me, having lost interest in the hobby.

7. How do you deal with burn out?
We always take a few months break between Blood Bowl league seasons, and we're avoiding roleplay burnout by having a fantastic GM who puts a lot of effort into plot and props.

8. Why is a raven like a writing desk?
You know, I once had an amazing answer to this. But then I woke up.

9. Star Wars or Star Trek?
FIREFLY!

But to answer the question, Trek. It's almost sacrilegious for a geek to admit, but I'm not a very big Star Wars fan.

10. If you could only buy from one miniature company from now on, which one would it be?
Difficult. We buy mostly from Impact, Gaspex Arts and Wyrd Miniatures and I really like some of the Pathfinder minis. So somewhere that stocks all of that. I should probably go with Hades Games, though, to support a fellow Blood Bowl player!

11. What is your favorite takeaway?
There's a fantastic Indian not far from us, Eastern Eye. Very yummy, service is always quick and friendly. We order from them more than everywhere else combined.

There we go then. Hope that's of some interest and I shall endeavour to make sure my blog is worthy of being linked too!

    1. Thank you! I'm very fond of the dragon - I always intended to do the four seasons in dragon form but haven't got there yet!
